It completely blows my mind even remembering the horrible experience I had with Rick at Alpine Audio. I ordered a Rega Planar 2 w/cartr from Rick by phone, at the advice of several "satisfied customers" whom I had come into contact with. I informed him that I would be forthcoming with payment week following. In the iterim I made an emergency trip to Oregon to attend the funeral of my sister, and was unable to make arrangements for payment "just then". I emailed him upon my return to Florida that he could proceed with order, as payment would be mailed out. One day, two days, three days went by -- no response to my emails. Rick, it seems, does not understand, nor have an ounce of compassion for anyone whose life does not run like a well-oiled machine. Yes Rick, there are some people left in this world that do not have a computer "strapped on" 24/7. Some much-needed professionalism might do wonders in boosting your business. F- (F minus score)

Prompt e-mail replies. Excellent, superb price. Bought a Meridian CD player, turns out to be damaged during shipping, Rick immediately send a new one and took the trouble to issue a call tag so that UPS fetch the damaged Merdian cd player. Wonderful customer service. Although the variety of brands is not huge but definitely provide customer the best, great service. Well Done Rick!

I just purchased a cal CL-10 and a pair of Dynaudio speakers from them. The service was excellent as were the prices which was what prompted me to purchase from them. My items arrived exactly as Ed promised per some specific instructions from me about the shipping date.

First time buyer at Alpine Audio, but I really like the gentle and helpful selling approach that Rick offers. He even lent me high-end cables to test my speaker system. Follow up on shipping damage is prompt (the one item shipped by UPS, others shipped by truck are in good shape).

Highly recommended.

These folks are great. I bought a mid-high end pair of speakers that Rick said had a "slight" cosmetic blimish. When they arrived less than 48 hours later, it took me a while to figure out which one had the blimish. They were a great deal. I am having trouble with a Marantz receiver and Rick has jumped right on it. I do not have the replacement yet, but appreciate the effort. Service after payment - that's what you are looking for.

When my Rega Planet CD player arrived it was not working properly. I called Alpine and they said they would ship one out and, when I received it, to send the malfunctioning one back.

They were extremely nice and helpful, but it took them a couple of weeks to get the replacement player in. It was annoying, but I never felt as though they were giving me the runaround.

And, by the way, the Planet is great.

I was fortunate enough to be within driving distance of Rick's shop. I got the best deal possible on two high end amplifiers. Two very worthwhile trips.
Rick always made me feel welcome in the store, and he was very helpful. My most recent purchase was a remote control. This time, I did not visit the store, and went
straight mail order. I got a great product with 2 day shipping! Ordered on Wed, and was programming it Friday night. Highly recommended.

Read positive review of UCD-100 CD player in S'phile. Emailed Ultech for dealer list. Nobody in my town (Washington), but Alpine on the list. I called Rick and discussed the product; we worked out a way for me to audition it risking only shipping expenses. I got it in 2 days. I listened, I liked, so I'm keeping it. Top recommend for Alpine and the CD player.

Excellent service! I received a prompt response to my e-mail inquiry.  I ordered a NAD 512 CD player (demo).  The price was great, and the unit arrived in excellent condition.  Delivery was prompt.  When he shipped the order, Rick couldn't find the original remote control for the 512, so he sent another one instead.  A few days later, the correct remote arrived as promised--no additional charge.  I highly recommend Alpine for mail orders.  Too bad they do not carry a wider line of products...
